With a little luck, I might be singing on a hit record this Christmas!
I have high hopes for Jason Noble’s charity-focused song “Be Mine This Christmas,” which features my choir, The Beaulieu Warblers, performing the backing vocals. Jason, who is legally blind, wrote and performed the song to raise money for the Royal National Institute of Blind People. This is Jason’s final assignment for his music degree – I’d give him an A!
Jason is aiming for a No. 1 single in the United Kingdom, to be released on December 19.
I was thrilled when I heard the final recording, knowing that I was part of creating something so good and knowing that all the profits will go to charity.
Choir practices make me feel reinvigorated, re-energized and joyful. I’d encourage anyone to get involved in their own local choir. It’s just like Gareth Malone and the Military Wives, but without the TV crews! I agree with Gareth that music lifts the spirits.
Do we have a chance up against the Military Wives? Perhaps not – they are amazing. But I’d like to think that if you appreciate their song, you’d also support “Be Mine This Christmas” on iTunes (proceeds benefit the Royal National Institute of Blind People). Pre-order it NOW.
