Coaching Supervision Group

CSG

Are you looking for a (new) coaching supervisor?  Do you need Continuing Professional Development to maintain your credentialed coach status? Do you want to share your developmental journey with like-minded coaches? Stay safe and resourced by joining a Coaching Supervision Group.

I lead virtual and face-to-face group coaching supervision programmes for experienced coaches:

Virtual: ideal if you mostly work virtually and therefore need supervision that models good parallel processes for the work you undertake, or if you are time crunched and would prefer not to travel.

Face to face: a chance to slow down and take time to reflect in a beautiful New Forest, Hampshire location.

If you’ve never had coaching supervision before, you likely have some reservations around cost, value, the number of clients you have.  In my experience, those who have supervision wouldn’t be without it; the value to their own sanity and to the safety of their clients far outweighs the investment of time and money.  But I’d be happy to talk through your reservations before you commit.  Call me on +44 (0)7775 817 344.

My approach to supervision

My approach to supervision has evolved to embrace even more deeply what matters most: seeing the whole human being in you as a coach, and in those you serve. This work isn't just about coaching techniques or client challenges; it's about creating a space where you can bring your full self, including those parts that might normally remain hidden in professional contexts.

In our supervision groups now, we're exploring what it means to:

  • Access both personal and universal wisdom through head, heart, body and soul
  • Understand the paradoxical nature of change—how sometimes our most profound breakthroughs emerge not from efforting, but from allowing
  • Integrate all aspects of ourselves—intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual—in service of those we coach
  • Lead with love in our coaching practice, truly seeing and hearing people in their entirety

What I've observed is that when coaches invest in this deeper level of supervision, something remarkable happens. Coaches find more joy in their work, and clients find more joy in home and work lives. The work ripples outward in ways we couldn't have planned or forced.

The foundation

The purpose of supervision is learning that leads to the continuous development of the conscious competence of the supervisee and the supervisor and to a higher level of practice. At its core, supervision implies an accountability to learning – that of the supervisor and supervisee – that may extend to that of the systems of which they are a part.

My role is to help you to take a “super-vision” of your own coaching practice, and what you are doing to help your thinkers. It attends to the blind, deaf and dumb spots that you may not be fully aware of. My approach to supervision draws on creative tools to access your different intelligences. For example, we make use of movement, the body, and visual aids.

There are three main elements to supervision:

  • Qualitative – supporting you to coach in ways that are courageous, skilful, and ethical, asking “is this the best you could be doing?”
  • Developmental – developing your coaching through feedback, guidance, role modelling, and helping you to self-supervise through reflective practice.
  • Resourcing – supporting you when doubts and insecurities arise and providing you with a space to process what you have absorbed from your thinker or their system.

The group supervision approach gives each of the 5 participants airtime to bring their own coaching clients for consideration; you learn from your own case, as well as those of the other coaches in the room.  You are not alone in your fears and hopes for coaching; you’ll see that when you share and learn with your peers.

You can also choose to practice your coaching live, during one of the sessions, with feedback from your peers.  I’ve noticed how this shines a light on your blind-spots even better than your self-report of your coaching, and really keeps you at your edge.

In summary, you will:

  • Work through real scenarios to gain perspective about ethical next steps, such as this one
  • Be challenged to do your best work for yourself and your clients
  • Practice with feedback, to sharpen your edge
  • Experience new techniques that you can put into practice immediately
  • Build your capacity to self-supervise in between sessions
  • Have space to decompress and rejuvenate yourself as a coach and as a human being
My experience of working with you was that you bring an ability to hold a real lightness of touch, while also inviting me to explore at depth.  I found your lightness and depth hugely valuable in our supervision work together, and would definitely recommend you as a coach supervisor. Katie Bardes

I learnt a lot in your supervision session and like your enabling style, to make the most of the group and to cover so much ground in such a short space of time and model the supervision so well.

I certainly had a number of areas where I felt alone in my thinking and also needed some group work to pull out from me what I needed to move forward as a coach. I lacked a bit of confidence that I am good enough and also value add for paying clients and justifying taking payment for the work. I have experienced some skilful facilitation and felt appropriately challenged in my thinking, and by the group. I felt more able to just be me and be present as a result of this experience and worry much less about my inner voice and value.

I wanted to let you know that I’ve just been awarded APECS Accredited Master Executive Coach status. As I reflect on what’s supported me to reach this point, our group supervision stands out. The space you hold, the questions you ask, and the depth of thinking you invite have all contributed significantly to my development, as a coach and as a person. Thank you for your presence and leadership. It’s had a lasting impact. Gillian Frame
