Thank you to everyone who has pre-ordered the book. It’s been really popular – in fact, I have already sold more than my first book. How exciting. And how rewarding.
I love writing. You may have noticed that, from the 390 posts on my blog page, and that isn’t counting all the ones I have archived, which is at least the same again.
I love sharing what I have learned from life, love and work with all of you.
I wonder what book or blogs you have in you?
What do you want to share with the world – or at least with those who follow you?
I wanted to write a book for years, but kept reading books that “stole my thunder”. You know the ones – they say what you would have said if you had only got around to putting pen to paper or fingers to keyboard.
But I came to realise that I have a unique way of saying things. So even if I might be writing about something that someone else has already written, my style is unique or my angle is different or the lens through which I write it is distinctly focused.
That’s the same with what you have to say. Your style will be unique. Your angle will be different. The lens through which you write will be distinctly focused.
And that will create a book that is exclusively yours.
Not to mention that what you think might be obvious to everyone is actually only obvious to you. We don’t all know what you know. We haven’t all had your experiences in life. We haven’t seen the world through your eyes. Only you have. Which means only you can write the book that you were meant to write.
I know that writing isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But if you’ve been toying with the idea for some time and you have at least some motivation to test out the waters, stick your toe in. Dabble a little. What’s the worst that can happen?
You may hold some fear about the unknown. Yup, that will happen when you are trying to change the world (or even influence one part of it). Get some coaching to figure out what those fears are and who you might talk to to learn more. Look on the internet for people or places that can support and challenge you.
Go for it. I dare you!
I dared. And I am so happy that I did.
Tomorrow will be my virtual book launch party and next week, my face-to-face book launch here in my garden in Beaulieu. Will I see you there?
You can find out more and read the first chapter of the book here.
