WOW. I am gob-smacked. Amazed. Shocked. Very pleasantly surprised.
Here’s why……in the 30 day challenge, participants touched an average of 6 people each. And since there were 8650 people, that means they had an impact on 52,765 people. What sunbeams.
But that’s not all. And here’s the piece that is truly inspiring. According to participants’ feedback, each of them sent the challenges to an average of 7.4 more internal people each day to take part. And 5.9 people outside of the company. That’s 115,045 more people taking part in the challenge. So if each of those people touched another 6 people each, then the total number of people that the ripple effect touched would have been 690270 plus the 52765 above….743,035 people around the world.
Now, that may be an exaggeration, since not all of those people they sent it on to will have taken the challenges. But even with a conservative 10% of people taking part, each of them taking 3 challenges, we would have impacted 87,278 people. What sunbeams.
Think of the difference that made to their lives on those occasions. Those little things like saying thank you will have made the world of difference.
In fact, 59% of participants said that it made a difference to their own engagement levels, and 45% said they saw more positive behaviour displayed by those around them. 37% saw an increase in collaboration as a result.
Way to go. Sunbeams.
I’d like to acknowledge another sunbeam today. Don, my big boss, lit up my day yesterday. I’d like to thank him for his enlightenment; his comments have knocked down a barrier for me already.
