I’ve had a busy two weeks with three book launches and publication day.
It already has its first 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 reviews from people who read it pre-editing.
And on publication day, I put in an order for a reprint as it’s already sold more than I could have hoped for.
I am so very grateful to those of you who pre-ordered it. I hope it has reached you by now, after a little hiccup with Amazon’s supply chain.
I’d love for you to share a picture of you with the book with your networks. Or just a pic of the book if you are shy 🙈 and tag me so I can send gratitude your way.
Much more insight into coaching readiness and coachability to come in future editions of this newsletter…but please do BUY THE BOOK in the meantime.
Exploring Coachablity Event
On October 18th, UK ICF sponsored our Southampton Coaching Circle event ‘Exploring Coachability‘. 70 coaches came together at Kimbridge Barn near Romsey for an event described by attendees as:
- “An inspiring and insightful event!”
- “Putting some edge in the room”
- “Enlightening”
- “A beautiful day filled with learning and laughter”
- “Provoking”
Dr Sam Humphrey contributed to my book Cultivating Coachability and also supported me in delivering the event, a thought-provoking session exploring the often overlooked concept of coachability.
One attendee summed the whole event up beautifully:
Such an inspiring day focused on two key topics that every coach should dive deep into: coaching readiness and coachability! As we celebrated the launch of the new book ‘Cultivating Coachability’, the venue was packed, conversations were rich and thought-provoking, and the day certainly left me with a fresh perspective on how to elevate my practice.
We dug deep into the nuances of coaching readiness – how to recognise when clients are truly prepared for change – and explored what it means to cultivate coachability as part of the end-to-end coaching experience. From start to finish, this was a brilliant workshop kicked off by Philippe Guenet, Director of Thought Leadership at UK ICF, led by the author Clare Norman MCC and contributor Dr Sam Humphrey, and supported by the UK ICF.
Here’s what I loved about the day:
- Seeing people’s eyes light up when they met with colleagues they had only ever met online or not seen for an eternity
- The hugs that I received and whole-heartedly reciprocated at the start of the day that set me up for success
- The very loud music that I played before everyone arrived – a playlist that got me into my body and out of my mind
- My cowboy boots! (for how they made me feel)
- The spaciousness for deep and edgy conversations
- The very special, beautiful and sparkly venue Kimbridge Barn.
- The amazing customer service – better than I could have hoped for, thanks to Paul and Fliss and the rest of the team – you made everything run smoothly alongside Debbie Frith‘s impeccable organisation
- The private outdoor space that meant we could bask in the sunshine during breaks (thank you sun!)
- The person who said she felt seen by her fellow participants. That is very special!
- The mic drop moment when a former coaching custodian said how much she valued the insights from an external coach about how to be most effective in her role
And I haven’t even mentioned the content. That (almost) feels secondary to the depth of relationships that were forged on the day.
I really felt the embodiment of community in all parts of me.
